PROGRAMMING:
NEXT SHOW will be published on or about August 7 and will be available for about 1 year. I usually publish on Wednesdays or as soon as possible thereafter. You will hear music in several segments of top indie/DIY/underground songwriters and bands.
RCB Novus Ordo is a separate podcast with 8 songs, one each from a brand new recording. I spin the music and give you some backstory of each.

QUOTE: “Thank you so much for your support. Honestly- I wish there were more like you.” – Garrison Starr, via Facebook, 6/29/2013
I posted a personal update, two of them, to be precise about my financial and work situation. I can’t say much has changed on the outer but some inner work is definitely stirring up things. I’m taking some different actions than what I had done in the past. I intend change to occur, and only for the best for all concerned.

Yes, pretty serious situation, but I am finding some good resources that will be useful if and when the time comes.

RCB Novus Ordo: Debut airplay once again from Dann Russo, who recorded a live EP at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, MA. I was blown away by the sounds of Super Water Sympathy, and their ‘water-pop’ approach. This Way To The Egress is a band I first saw here in Philly, and they are debuted here with a classic example of gypsy rock.
RCB proper: Don’t ask me why, but I suddenly got nostalgic for British TV programming. I cued up some music from the 90’s alongsides. Pizzicato Five was a band I remember bringing a sense of sophistication in music, much the way Saint Etienne did in the 90’s, tho there was that acid-rock base that they presented unlike the electronic roots of P5. P5 sampled a song from Françoise Hardy, which you hear right after. “Summer Nights” by Marianne Faithfull is another staple of summer songs here. If only the song was longer… Segment 1: Martha Redbone Roots Project gets debuted at the beginning, with poems of William Blake set to music. Martha, along with Clarence Bucaro, were at City Winery in Chicago on 8/2, and also shared billing with The Steel Wheels for this weekend’s Sugar Maple Traditional Music Festival, in Madison WI. Segments 2 and 5 contained music from artists who are performing in this year’s Musikfest, in Bethlehem PA. On The Water is an experimental band I saw last year in Philly. Madison Cano I first heard of and saw while in Cape May back in March. I was hooked on this song “Forget Ourselves”; the chromatic guitar groove recalls a Bob Dylan song, “Lay Lady Lay” (give it a listen, it’s fairly comparative). Reverend TJ McGlinchey I saw twice in Philly before, once at Ryan Tennis’ Clubhouse Concert series. Segment 3: Bern & The Brights, and Val Emmich shared billing at Maxwell’s in Hoboken NJ. The famed venue closed up shop on 7/31. Segment 4: More new music from folk group Mustered Courage, plus another new song from Alan Semerdjian.
