CD FOCUS:
A recurring segment highlighting outstanding concept and compilation albums, track-for-track.
Doug “Cosmo” Clifford – Magic Window http://www.dougcosmoclifford.com @DougCosmo
Cosmo is widely known as a member of Creedence Clearwater Revival, as well as Creedence Clearwater Revisited, the latter of which just completed 25
years of performing. He now mainly focuses on production, alongside of drums. Last year, Cosmo rediscovered the masters of over 100 songs that he
recorded in 1985. Each song was written, or co-written, by Cosmo. It’s a diverse album in genre – sounding both positive, and grooving.
From this album, I aired: “Don’t Let Go” & “You Mean So Much To Me”.

Gretchen Peters  – The Night You Wrote That Song: The Songs Of Mickey Newbury
Gretchen counts Mickey as a prime influence on her songwriting. A fellow Nashville Songwriter Hall Of Fame inductee and twice-nominated for a Grammy, she takes a
mostly low-key approach to Mickey’s songs. Gretchen’s credits within the country genre, include work with Bonnie Raitt, Patty Loveless, George Strait, Faith Hill, and most
notably with Martina McBride (“Independence Day”). From this new album, I aired these tracks:

CD FOCUS:
BLOODSHOT RECORDS http://www.bloodshotrecords.com @BSHQ
This roots-rock label turns 25 years old this month. I’ve been a fan of the label, since the early years – (both theirs, and this show’s),
starting with Cordero, circa 2003. The trend has continued to the present day, as some of their current roster do find their way onto my shows –
(namely, The Bottle Rockets, Murder By Death, Vandoliers, and Sarah Shook & The Disarmers). Bloodshot consistently turns out music, that hails mainly
from elements of country, punk and folk – something new in the early 90s, not unlike the “No Depression” movement. Something called, “insurgent country”
grew, from this loose combination of sounds.
From their new compilation, “Too Late To Pray: Defiant Chicago Roots”, I aired these 4 tracks:
Sima Cunningham “Weeds and Daisies” http://www.simacunningham.com @simacunningham
The Lawrence Peters Outfit “I Wrote You A Song” http://www.lawrencepeters.com @lpetersoutfit
Kelly Hogan “Gotta Have My Baby Back” http://www.kellyhogan.com @hoganhere

From the Sledgehammer Blues portion of the compilation, we hear these 5 tracks:
Terry Evans “Blues No More” (Puttin It Down)
Larry Willis “Steal Away” (Steal Away)
From the Valley Entertainment portion:

CD FOCUS:
Occasional segment featuring outstanding compilation and concept albums, track-for-track
Bloodshot consistently turns out music that hails mainly
from elements of country, punk and folk, something new in the early 90s, not unlike the “No Depression” movement. Something called, “insurgent country”
grew, from this loose combination of sounds. From their new compilation, “Too Late To Pray: Defiant Chicago Roots”, I aired these:
Wild Earp & The Free For Alls “The Last Honky Tonk In Chicago” http://www.wildearp.com @olwildearp
Miss Tammi Savoy & The Chris Casello Combo “If It’s News To You” http://www.misstammisavoy.com
Jon Langford’s Hillbilly Lovechild “I Am A Big Town” https://www.bloodshotrecords.com/artist/jon-langford
Half Gringa “Wearing White” http://www.halfgringa.com
Brendan Kelly & The Wandering Birds “Lay Me Down” @badsandwich
The Family Gold “The Sun Is Going Down” http://www.thefamilygold.com

From this new compilation, I aired 3 tracks, from the Hearts Of Space portion:
Bill Douglas “Angelico” – Quiet Moon http://www.billdouglas.cc
David Darling “The Beauty Of All Things” – Homage To Kindness http://www.daviddarling.com
