THE VISION I hold for my life and this program: http://wp.me/p1FKJJ-G6
—–
PROGRAMMING:
NEXT SHOW will be published on or about July 11 and will be available for about 1 year. You will hear music in several segments of top touring indie/DIY/underground songwriters and bands.
RCB Novus Ordo is a separate podcast with 6 songs, one each from a brand new recording. I spin the music and give you the backstory of each artist.
*****
THE LATEST: I continue to seek work tho relented a bit as I put more emphasis on this here radio program along with my growing sports/stats project at Idealistic Stats. A few people have sent donations; thanks to each of you! I am staying centered as best as I can with spiritual text and belief that I resonate with.

One person in particular that i resonate with is a gentleman named Derek Rydall www.derekrydall.com
Owing to the time allotted to other projects and the time to seek work, I haven’t published my quarterly charts yet. This is work that takes the better part of a day, and it takes real dedication to get it all done. For the time being, I’m not attending shows or traveling for other purposes outside of work. At a time when I am concerned about where my next dollar comes from, I am giving the charts less priority than the show itself.

***
RCB REWIND:
RCB Novus Ordo: The orchestral folk sound of Esthema kicks off this edition. Dog Society, whom were on hiatus for a number of years, reconvened recently. I chose “No Reason” for no real reaon at all, and I actually love the production on it. Paul Sachs has a new album as well. “Jesuscandle” reminds me just a bit of that song Paul Newman sang in “Cool Hand Luke”. Maybe it’s just me. Alan Barrington regularly performs around the Carolinas. His new album is less pure songwriter-oriented and more of a country blues direction. “Country Blues” in fact is the actual title.

RCB proper: Upon the death of soul survivor Bobby Womack, I chose a few songs that represent the past, present and future of music through his unmistakable voice. I was never really into Gorillaz but once they gathered a live presence on stage I gave them more credibility. I didn’t know that Bobby had sang on two songs; we hear one of them, plus a dazzling James Taylor cover along with an older tune from the 80s. Several segments of music included artists with newer music and who are part of this year’s Red Wing Roots Festival (Steel Wheels, who run the fest, Yarn, and Loves It!) New Bedford Folk Festival (RUNA, Vance Gilbert) and the Green River Festival (Heather Maloney & Darlingside, Hurray For The Riff Raff). Heather shares billing with Anais Mitchell on July 19 at The Strand Theater, Rockland, ME. Final segment: Sloan Wainwright & The Levins were at the venerable Towne Crier Cafe on July 5

SUBMISSION GUIDLINES
I focus on CDs as opposed to downloads, though I make exceptions in the event of albums that are digital releases only. Music must have a 2014 release date or not released otherwise before October 2013. All new albums debut on RCB Novus Ordo; on rare exception, some debut on Radio Crystal Blue proper.
I’m also interested in featuring, great compilation or soundtrack albums track-for-track, to help tell the story of those albums.

PROGRAMMING:
NEXT SHOW will be published on or about July 4 and will be available for about 1 year. You will hear music in several segments of top touring indie/DIY/underground songwriters and bands.
RCB Novus Ordo is a separate podcast with 6 songs, one each from a brand new recording. I spin the music and give you the backstory of each artist.
*****
THE LATEST: Firstly my apologies for delivering a newsletter this late. Lately I’m more stressed over the living situation as well as finding work, and that reality has taken supreme focus against anything else I do.
I’m continuing to trust in the universe that there is support when I ask for it, and that I take action just when the situation calls for it. I keep waste to a minimum as well as unnecessary spending.
Along those lines, thanks to those who have donated. The money is going toward my bills and general expenses for living here as well as job hunting.

Also, I’m beginning to work on the quarterly airplay charts which I am to roll out this holiday weekend. They measure who have received the most airplay and progressive amount of exposure on Radio Crystal Blue in 3-month periods.

***
RCB REWIND:
RCB Novus Ordo: Glen Roethel, formerly of Gathering Time, receives debut airplay for his first solo album. Peter Calandra has created hundreds of compositions music for film and TV, and Broadway credits that includes Les Miserables and Miss Saigon. We hear music from his latest thematic album. Veteran blues pianist David Vest is heard on this program with his latest. Vaneese Thomas, younger sibling of Carla and Marvell Thomas, and daughter of blues great Rufus Thomas, recorded her latest album. Through the magic of technology, we hear a ‘duet’ of Vaneese and Rufus on an old recording of his. Ashley Davis presents contemporary Celtic music. On “Beside You, Near” we hear the unmistakable voice of Moya Brennan.

RCB proper: For starters, I thought it would be fun to toss in a few snippets of Beastie Boys tracks between the hip-hop tracks that kick off this edition. The tracks I did spin carry a summery vibe. For some, I had P-Funk on the brain, and I did give you Parliament as the initial exclamation point. Segment 1: Brand new album from Sassparilla is one of two new albums they released. Pasajero is the new studio album, and Hullaballoo, which I’ll air sometime later on, is a new live album. Cyndi Harvell, Megan Slankard and Jeff Campbell were part of the first annual Peace, Love & Music Festival at Sunset Beach CA this past weekend. Segment 2 :Ronstadt Generations, New Riders Of The Purple Sage, and Professor Louie & The Crowmatix are part of the upcoming Roots & Music Festival in Westminster MD on 7/12-13. Alex Kelly’s “Orange Circle” is a fun summer song, and you have to see the video of this one. Changing Modes has released a new album, much in the vein of their previous output. Segment 3: Amy Speace, Rebecca Loebe and Disappear Fear are among many taking part in the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival on 7/12, Okemah OK (where else, really?). We also hear brand new music from The Currys, a new manifestation of Galen Curry’s material that I had debuted last year. Final segment includes more new music from Kerri Powers and Sharon Goldman.

SUBMISSION GUIDLINES
I focus on CDs as opposed to downloads, though I make exceptions in the event of albums that are digital releases only. Music must have a 2014 release date or not released otherwise before September 2013. All new albums debut on RCB Novus Ordo; on rare exception, some debut on Radio Crystal Blue proper.
