PROGRAMMING:
NEXT SHOW will be published on or about February 27 and will be available for
about 1 year. Remember, even if you miss hearing a show the week I record,
you can always find it within the FeedPlayer’s archive of older shows. Owing
to schedule demands, I usually publish on Wednesdays or as soon as
possiblethereafter. You will hear music in several segments of top
indie/DIY/underground songwriters and bands.
RCB Novus Ordo is a separate podcast with 10 (ten) songs, one each
from a brand new recording. I spin the music and give you some backstory of
each.
*****************************
I may be receiving help from my family re my financial situation. I say “my” because it’s the truth. I haven’t been able to keep up with the bills this year so far. I may be able to stay afloat some time longer but nothing is promised, of course. Further I’m sporadically interviewing for jobs. I’ve had to broaden my horizons to build more opportunities. I’m also directly reaching more people within this field of radio, podcasting and the music industry at large to see where I can fit in with my skills. More than one person has suggested the idea of doing social media marketing.
I’m continuing to accept donations. In the last few weeks I received enough to take care of my Web services. So thankfully, I’ll be on the Web for another month! And thank you, each of you that donated. The donation button is at the home tab and also the top part of the front page.

RCB rewind:
RCB Novus Ordo: Outstanding music from this edition include such from The Famly Business, Montreal’s Rouge Tigre, and classic rock band The Weekenders. The Beltways are also heard, themselves with 15+ years performing in and around Baltimore. Lowball Jack’s instrumental sounds are the latest release from Thirsty Records. Noel Paul Stookey, 1/3 of classic folk group Peter, Paul & Mary, returns with a new album.
RCB proper: By my count there were 11 artists in this edition who are performing in Toronto this week, as part of Folk Alliance International’s annual conference. Anais Mitchell & Jefferson Hamer recorded an album of Francis James Child’s collection of poems. Known as the Child Ballads, I spun one song which has some sort of Scottish reference, tho it’s disputed as to whom Sir Patrick Spens is. Also heard once again is a selection from Nels Andrews’ latest. Brick Fields is heard in segment 1. They are true ministers of music, hosting a monthly event inside a local church with food, music, sermon and fellowship. Segment 2: Cary Cooper’s “Suzanne” resonates for me, as I am the subject’s age, and wonder if I, too, will run off to join the circus before I’m 44. Cary performs in the roundwith Claude Butch Morgan and Jan Seides at New World Deli in Austin, 3/2. Segment 3: Brother Joscephus & Roosevelt Dime share billing at the Sellersville Theater, Sellersville, PA on 3/2. Two great live ensembles on one bill. Just tremendous. The song I keep coming back to in Wes Tucker & The Skillet’s album “Afterlens” is “Rattle Your Chains”. Segment 4: Rebecca Loebe and Raina Rose continue to share a number of gigs. Rebecca and Jann Klose, 2 songwriters with powerful voices, will be at Steel City Coffeehouse on 3/3 in nearby Phoenixville. Final segment shares more new music from Carla Hassett, and a return to the airwaves by Phil Minissale. Craig Sonnenfeld and Patti DeRosa are at The Locals in Providence RI on 2/24.
