PROGRAMMING:
NEXT SHOW will be published on or about June 26 and will be available for about 1 year. You will hear music in several segments of top indie/DIY/underground songwriters and bands.
RCB Novus Ordo is a separate podcast with 6-8 songs, one each from a brand new recording. I spin the music and give you the backstory of each artist.
*****
THE LATEST: With the sickness nearly behind me, and some job interviews ahead of me this week, and just about all the $ gone after paying bills,I’m in a state of surrending to the Universe. It’s all I can really do. I’m prepared to build a new life with new tools, new money, ideally new work, the opportunity to travel and still have the time to deliver a podcast. There’s really no time to think about what-if and such. I have to trust that matters are getting better and I take action when I firmly believe it will lead to my further destiny and mundanely a way to get my bills paid and vision realized.

I neglected to publish the Spring quarterly airplay chart, but will make up for the lost time. First week in July I’ll publish 2 charts, the Spring and Summer editions.

Being a one-person operation has obvious positives, especially regarding taste, clarity in vision, solid peformance. But the responsibility is mine too…the $, the time, all of it. I can’t compete, and don’t desire to compete, with other radio stations and podcasts who have more people and $ behind them and better equipment. I just do what I do and I’m so glad that you, dear readers, and listeners, and musicians, support my efforts.

Idealistic Stats gets further updated with a few pages added. These pages representing the key matters and theories I focus on. I bother mentioning this other website here because it ties into the overall vision. That vision involves not only sports but music and spirituality. What holds some of this together is travel to events where sports and music are active. I’m excited about all this, and being in this state of excitement tempers any worry I have about where and how the next dollar comes in. And there’s a donation button too, which is now on the About page and a sticky post upfront. www.idealisticstats.wordpress.com

RCB REWIND:
RCB Novus Ordo: Cyber PR, one of the main RCB supporters, sent a number of CDs, the majority of which make it to the airwaves this week. dinMachine represent NYC and present experimental electronic music. Juliane Jones sent me a 2-disc pop-oriented set of music, one in English one in Cantonese.

RCB proper: The duo of Jennifer & Sam, The Morning Birds, are also the creative force behind PR firm Working Brilliantly. Their jazz-trip-hop song “Bloom”, timed for the summer solistice, kicks off the show. Segment 1: Roosevelt Dime opened for Red Molly in NYC on 6/20. You’ll hearRed Molly sing a tune cowritten with Roosevelt Dime’s Eben Pariser. Kirsten Thien presents a Sippie Wallace cover. Jodie Levinson and Emily Zuzik bring songs with sophistication in this segment also. Segment 2: Jiggley Jones, James Hearne, & The Late Saints all took part in Make Music Philly, an event that’s in other cities at the occasion of the summer solstice. Brand new song from Revel 9 in focus here also. Segment 3 contained music from a few artists that took part in this weekend’s Clearwater Festival on the Hudson River in NY. Included is something new from Martha Redbone, with her musical take on poet William Blake. Segment 4, all folk-laden, actually starts off a bit uptempo with Mara Levi’s new project, The Pushovers.

SUBMISSION GUIDLINES
I focus on CDs as opposed to downloads, though I make exceptions in the event of albums that are digital releases only. Music must have a 2014 release date or not released otherwise before September 2013. All new albums debut on RCB Novus Ordo; on rare exception, some debut on Radio Crystal Blue proper.
I’m also interested in featuring, great compilation or soundtrack albums track-for-track, to help tell the story of those albums.

RCB Novus Ordo is a separate podcast with 6-8 songs, one each from a brand new recording. I spin the music and give you the backstory of each artist.
*****
THE LATEST: Was rather sick this past week and the feeling hasn’t quite ebbed yet. It’s a head cold, if you’re wondering. This on top of the stress of wondering where the next $$ are coming from. I continue to believe that something is emerging, along the lines of the vision I have and whatever action that I’m to due. For example, I may be investing in a tablet that runs Android. Has just the devices I need to be mobile when not at home. The issue is having the $ for it. Ironically I was nearly killed soon after when having to wait out a lightning storm. I’m thankful to be alive. This weekend a few donations came in and I’m certainly thankful for those who donated.

***
RCB REWIND:
RCB Novus Ordo includes new music from Random Order, a 3-piece band from Canada that have been together since the 90s. I wasn’t familiar at all with their music outside of their prior EP. Zoe Muth, nationally-touring songwriter, gets debuted as well among the 6 artists in this podcast

RCB proper: Futbol! Of course! I recalled the only tunes I know that contain any soccer commentary, including a Weezer single from 2010. Not too coincidentally, Lu Horta of Brazil releases a Marina Lima cover of “Fullgas”, a recognizable tune from the 80s. I kept to summer songs where possible all through the show, and did likewise with Elisa Peimer in Segment 1. Also aired a new tune from The Moonshine. Segment 2: Butcher’s Blind and Spanking Charlene share billing in NYC on June 27. Herbie D & The Dangermen, along with the Tommy Z Band provide some rockin’ blues here also. Segment 3 includes a couple of songs titled “Always” and a thoughtful tune about growing up from Lynn Hollyfield, another from her new album. Segment 4: Noel Paul Stookey with a song about Woody Guthrie, and 2 summer songs from Aztec Two Step and Marianne Kesler. This show was thoroughly edited as there was a ton of issues with my CD player
