HOW TO LISTEN:
Each show is usually published by Wednesday or Thursday weekly. There are
now two main hubs where to hear Radio Crystal Blue
(1) via Big Contact, my podcast provider: There is a Feed Player at
http://www.radiocrystalblue.net Just click the link to open it, and select from the
tabs to download and stream the audio from the particular show. You can also
embed the player on your site or blog.
The FeedPlayer is generated with Flash. If you don’t have Flash, you can get
this at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
These players are also available at http://www.bigcontact.com/radiocrystalblu which
renders the player as a Web page.
Shows on the FeedPlayers are kept for a year.
(2) via Internet Archive: Each podcast includes a dedicated podcast page on
http://www.archive.org with similar download, stream and embed links. Just look for
Radio Crystal Blue and the date of the week I published the show (I use the
Sunday date) The shows kept here will remain in perpetuity.
RADIO CRYSTAL BLUE ARCHIVE PROJECT also on http://www.archive.org Use the search
term Radio Crystal Blue to find older shows from 2004 and 2006, shows that
don’t quite sound like the ones I presently do!

Oh I could care much less about the Grammys. Shall we move on? Cool.
I recently built a Twitter account around one other aspect of my life, one more part of the vision of my life, that I really want to grow. In some way I want it to be a career, a life, a source of income, fame, fortune, all of that and then some. I’m specifically dealing with the part of me that into sports and the quantifiable stats that attempt to explain what happens on the field of play. Some of you may not know that I’ve written extensively on these subjects via a blog, and have put my skills to the test via investments and a bit of gambling here and there. After one very successful investment came to pass in December, I figured that my knowledge and experience should be more official and separate from all things Radio Crystal Blue and my overall curious nature. So, dear listener, if you are as curious, please follow my posts at http://www.idealisticstats.wordpress.com and my extra twitter account at @idealisticstats
Homefront drama kept me from airing last week’s podcasts, as the comfort level reached an all-time low. A lack of proper heat and hot water, the sudden loss of keys, lack of $, all of it added up these 2 weeks. Late in the week several issues did get resolved and now I’m finally catching my breath. Job interviews are on tap this week thankfully.
I bought an old school boombox radio/CD player hybrid which will definitely keep my production a lot smoother. I have used some sort of CD player to air actual discs for a number of years. I’d much rather handle discs and give you info from liner notes than simply inserting music with info, from a downloadf after the fact, Maybe technology will evolve where mp3s and related music files will contain text for this purpose. Till then, let’s keep it physical.
RCB REWIND:
RCB Novus Ordo: It’s been years since I’ve aired the ‘avant-twang’ sound of Lys Guillorn. She released a new album back in the autumn of 2013. Jesse Terry, great indie pop songwriter, is back with latest. And so is one of my long-established NYC musician contacts, Kathy Zimmer. The song I aired featured Lisa Bianco on flute.
RCB proper: Recognizing the 10th anniversary of The Matthew Show’s debut album ‘texas’ I spun a tune from that very album as our opening music. To be precise, I aired the first version of one of those songs, which does not appear on the album.. Segment one includes more from Matthew, and something from the compelling Beth Wood. Daphne Lee Martin is about to release a new album herself. Segment 2 includes from a selection of artists that attended an industry trade event called NAMM in Anaheim CA. Calico, purveyor of ‘Calfiornia country’ can be heard in this segment, whom I aired once before in the big holiday show in December. Tori Roze & The Hot Mess are an exciting R&B-fueled group I recently debuted on RCB Novus Ordo. Segment 3: Roosevelt Dime have released a new album. They shared billing with Poor Old Shine at Voices Cafe, Westport CT on Saturday. A fine combo of alternative-Americana from both groups. This segment also added some rock and folk. Wes Tucker & The Skillets are included here with a song from yet another live recording in NYC. I believe this was, like the previous, recorded at Arlene’s Grocery in the Lower East Side. Segment 4 was mainly folk: Beacoup Blue and Carolann Solebello are scheduled to perform February 7th at the Nelson Odeon, in Nelson, NY. Greg Klyma’s 8th album debuts here, Segment 5 was jazz oriented to begin (BD Lenz, Avi Wisnia, Eliane Amherd).
