PROGRAMMING:
NEXT SHOW will be published on or about April 17 and will be available
for about 1 year. I usually publish on Wednesdays or as soon as
possible thereafter. You will hear music in several segments of top
indie/DIY/underground songwriters and bands.

RCB Novus Ordo is a separate podcast with 10 songs, one each
from a brand new recording. I spin the music and give you some backstory of
each.

Happy to be sharing yet another podcast with you amidst all the good music coming to my ears and yours. Want to keep this going? Donate whatever currency you feel Radio Crystal Blue is worth to you at the home or front page.

This week I read an artice via Twitter about a virtual currency online social stock market. Empire Avenue is not a game, but a market built on the strength of pure networking. It’s been around about 2 years and only now I get word about its growth. I join up, and from 100,000 I have grown to about 500,000 net wealth just for signing up and being recognized for already having 4000 Facebook friends and over 1600 Twitter followers. Wowsers. I did buy shares in people I knew. I don’t know any of the folks (yet) who bought shares in me. Still, they are folks who will benefit not from my stock, but also from my real product, my 3 podcasts and everything else I bring to the table. Want in? www.empireavenue.com/radiocblue

Had a Skype chat today with Peter Thomas Fornatale, son of the late freeform radio jock Pete Fornatale. Peter is an accomplished author with books covering the subject of music as well as horse racing. He’s active with a horse racing blog at www.unbearablebetting.com and has many of his music books available at Amazon.
Latest work is 50 Licks, Myths And Stories From Half A Century Of The Rolling Stones:
http://50licks.wordpress.com/ The Stones are appearing in Philly in mid-June.

Also just got a nice message from a junior high (OK, OK, middle) school classmate. He reports that a cousin’s band who once played our school auditorium is reuniting in NYC in May for an International Pop Overthrow event. They were know as The Wind. Based in Miami, were active in the early 1980s. I remember the band very well. I remember them doing 10 songs, very much inspired by late 60’s British rock with a touch of psychedelia and that Summer Of Love sentiment (a sound that Mr. Fornatale would appreciate). As if the 60’s never ended. I might attend that show. We’ll see.

IDEALISTIC SPORT is my newest podcast, fully unrelated to music. If you
hunger for out-of-the-box opinion, a unique take on sport stats, even
insightful predictions, this new show is for you. Content will focus mainly
on minor and individual sports instead of teams for the most part. The second show will provide a recap of the first, and my thoughts and predictions of upcoming events. I am recording this show today (Friday) and will publish it sometime around 6pm ET.

Access the shows at www.bigcontact.com/idealisticsport along with overlighting blog posts, which will be the final word of all predictions and summaries, at www.idealisticstats.wordpress.com I’ve added a second page to evaluate just how I do with my predictions.
If you are a musician that would like to submit to this program for use as
intro and outro segment, or to fill in the spaces between segments, just
send a message.

In other news, my CD player just broke and I probably will have to go the post production route to insert songs for this podcast. But it will work out fine for next week.

RCB rewind:
RCB Novus Ordo: Some highlights from this edition include debuts by roots-rock band Brickwall Jackson, Piqued Jacks (from Italy), and the thoughtful songwriting of both Davey O, and Michael Silverman. Patrick Fitzsimmons resurfaces with his latest solo album.

RCB proper:With spring already sprung, I was in the mood for spinning music of a favorite Netherlands band, that being Bettie Serveert. Alongside I gave you some Britpop..and then off to….Segment #1: Leyla Fences with a unique voice and viewpoint when it comes to honky-tonk. Followed up with a few ‘place’ songs. I suspect Marc Berger made up the place name “Vixenburg”. A few love songs round out this segment (indie love songs, nothing but indie love songs) from Irene Torres, Avi Wisnia, and John Batdorf. Segment 2 highlighted musicians performing at the MOVE Music Festival happening later this month. Engloria has resurfaced on my radar for this segment. I spun a new single from Frank Palangi here. Segment 3: Food Will Win The War and Downward Dogs both return to my airwaves. Polarcode with some repeat airplay. Segment 4: Debuted the new album by The Steel Wheels, and told Trent Wagler’s story about the band’s formation. Gallon House & Sassparilla are performing at a Brewfest Celebration at the historic Olympic Club, Centralia, WA on 4/20. Final segment: Debuted Daphne Lee Martin’s new album, and followed that up with fellow artists who are performing at the Meriden Daffodil Festival, Meriden CT on 4/27. Last 3 songs on the show are mysterious, or otherwise are about women who are involved in mystery in some way (Beth DeSombre, Anais Mitchell & Jefferson Hamer, Devon Sproule).
