THE LATEST
Firstly, you’ll forgive me, I’m sure, if you note that my news and my shows are now running days later than in previous weeks. The stress on the homefront has mounted considerably
Surely if you’ve followed what I’ve posted online, I don’t have much more to add for what is happening to me and my life, without sounding like complaining. I feel like I should not focus on a possible eviction and the loss of everything I own, all because I can’t find or keep work. Is it Philly? Is it me? What is it that I must do to turn my life around financially? Whatever it is, it has to manifest darn quickly.  The court date is 9/26
The city agencies, at least the ones I’ve reached, have no funding at this time.  I’ve used every possible device within the welfare system that I’m eligible for to stay afloat.  My only hope is for some amount of financial assistance that can keep both sides from involving a judge. From the small legal help I’ve received, I don’t stand a chance.
So, where to move then? And, how?
There are several areas on my hit list. I can’t visit them all before deciding so I’m having to make comparisons and some hard decisions.  Those areas are
Madison WI
Asheville NC
Seattle WA
The main variables I’m focusing on are opportunities for employment, commute time, crime, social services, and environment.
Philadelphia’s been a good run for 3.5 years but, unless I am able to stay where I live a bit longer, perhaps it’s best I see more of the world and combat the problems I have in a different city.  If you kno someone in the above cities, or one that knows of the pros/cons of the variables I’ve listed for a city you live in or at least know well, please contact me at once.
RCB REWIND:   On RCB Novus Ordo, we heard mostly from artists with previous RCB airplay. New Sweden is touring regionally these days when not based in Phillly. Christine Albert is one-half of Albert & Gage. She’s on the Board of Trustees at The Recording Academy.   Speaking of Chris Gage, he can be heard on Adler & Hearne’s latest album.   Parsonsfield changed their name from Poor Old Shine, keeping the same great folk-rock content.  Flagship Romance is a duo project that also receives extra coverage this week.
RCB proper: A chat and reflection on 80’s music led to playing certain tunes, including recent releases by Public Image Ltd, and The Orb ,featuring the Upsetter, Lee “Scratch” Perry.  I had to add some vintage Primal Scream, noting the death of “Throb”, Robert Young.   Segment 1 includes artists who took part in the Adams Morgan Day festival in DC. “Cavalry” by Roosevelt Dime reflects on a cemetery in my former stomping grounds of Brooklyn, NY.  Segment 2 gives us another new tune from The Far West. Antigone Rising & Sirsy were scheduled for the Utica Music & Arts Festival tho I can’t quite confirm the former were at the festival.
Segment 3 contains several artists that performed in the Tribes Hill Folk Festival in Katonah NY. New song from Matt Turk is included.. Final segment contained mainly folk and Americana. More new music from Rod Picott and Matt Harlan in the mix.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
I focus on CDs as opposed to downloads, though I make exceptions in the
event of albums that are digital releases only. Music must have a 2014
release date. All new albums debut on RCB Novus Ordo; on rare exception,
some debut on Radio Crystal Blue proper.
I’m also interested in featuring, great compilation or soundtrack albums
track-for-track, to help tell the story of those albums.
Electronic press kits) submissions can be sent via one of these companies.
Search for the words Radio Crystal Blue to find my pages there. If I like
the EPK, I will then ask for a CD
CDs that fit in the above rules may be sent to
