PROGRAMMING:
NEXT SHOW will be published late this week. You will hear music in several segments of top touring indie/DIY/underground songwriters and bands.
Also, with this show celebrating the unofficial end of the summer, I’ll air certain songs in certain relevance, which is a long-standing RCB tradition.

RCB Novus Ordo is a separate podcast with 8 songs, one each from a brand new recording. I spin the music and give you the backstory of each artist.

THE LATEST:
Happy to be in the groove of presenting shows regularly again, with little to no technical issues now.  What remains an issue has no direct bearing on my show but it’s still an influence. It is the fact that I must build up some income, and quickly, before September 26. That is the scheduled court date re the possibility of eviction. I haven’t made full payments in over a year and that’s been based on available income, not because of claiming damages or anything else.   I’m not living in the fear of eviction, yet I haven’t made any real steps to do the truly proper thing, and that’s simply to move . I worry about whether anyone would take me in, let alone the fact that this and other projects in my life. I’d be terrified to let go of them.  So what to do? I believe the steps include finding an attorney, talking to people in other cities about possible arrangements, checking out job websites in other cities. I’ve also sought therapy and some spiritual advice.  What else can I do?
While that is going on, there’s been a tiny relapse re the streaming video situation on my computer as well as the continued inability to upload large files without some communication error. That’s an issue that certainly concerns this program, which averages nearly 4 hours.  I’ve another message to Comcast and they are sending another technician to see about the matter.

RCB REWIND:  On RCB Novus Ordo we hear the latest from veteran songwriter Jim Photoglo, something of a folk album this time around.  Dave Specter has years of experience in the Chicago Blues scene. I spun a tune that features RCB fave Bob Corritore on the harmonica. The Hydrothermal Vents are a duo that make Pixies-like avant-garde guitar sounds and songs.  Sharon Glassman’s 2nd volume of comedic/romantic songs got its debut airing.  Despite the title “Blame It On Hoboken”, Sharon is based in Colorado these days.

RCB proper began with reflections on the city, the night, the passageways, the subways. I wanted to capture some good examples, and had initially considered the great former NYC band Luna, and it culminated the opening segment which has some depressing but earnest tones to it. I really like how Jim Carroll’s tune fits in with the Bongos.  Segment 1 of the show itself contains more new music from Paul Sachs and Shantell Ogden.  Moonlight Social will soon release new material. I’m still blown away by their initial output.   Segment 2 includes some rockin’ not-so-positive numbers. Girl Tears is a punk trio from Los Angeles. In true punk spirit, their songs are very short, averaging about a minute. Segment 3: Belles & Whistles, and Daniel Christian, fellow Nebraskan songwriters, participated in their state fair the previous week. I understand that Belles & Whistles opened for Kenny Rogers, and Daniel was part of the backing band.   Sister Speak is a highly regarded alternative-roots duo based in San Diego. Final segment: Aired music from several folk groups taking part in the upcoming Chenango Arts Festival in Norwich, NY.  Likewise, more artists heard in the segment were part of last week’s Fayetteville Roots Festival.

SUBMISSION GUIDLINES
I focus on CDs as opposed to downloads, though I make exceptions in the event of albums that are digital releases only. Music must have a 2014
release date. All new albums debut on RCB Novus Ordo; on rare exception, some debut on Radio Crystal Blue proper.
I’m also interested in featuring, great compilation or soundtrack albums track-for-track, to help tell the story of those albums.
Electronic press kits) submissions can be sent via one of these companies.
Search for the words Radio Crystal Blue to find my pages there. If I like the EPK, I will then ask for a CD
