PROGRAMMING:
NEXT SHOW will be published on or about April 24 and will be available
for about 1 year. You will hear music in several segments of top
indie/DIY/underground songwriters and bands.
ALSO: The next podcast will include more music from David Uoskkinen’s In The Pocket: Essential Songs Of Philadelphia “Sessions” album. The album contains 10 songs, all from artists with strong Philly ties. 2 songs shall be aired from this exciting concept album.

RCB Novus Ordo is a separate podcast with 6-8 songs, one each from a brand new recording. I spin the music and give you the backstory of each artist.
*****
In focus for me this week is my job search, still intending to make every resource available while seeking, keeping it reasonable in terms of money, distance, time. The podcasts get worked on a bit later in the week these days but I remain committed to giving you high quality product with each show.
Now for a look and listen back:
RCB REWIND:

RCB Novus Ordo: Versatile songwriter and artist Kate MacLeod has a song from the standout album of the 5 I presented: “The Annual Menhaden” was inspired by Peter Matthiessen’s book “Men’s Lives”, the accounts of Long Island fisherman and a spring ritual. (Peter passed away last month). The album was recorded at Ken Sanders Rare Books in Salt Lake City. I’m becoming a fan of Fried Goat, a cool indie band, that takes the fandom of goats to a new level: there are goat recipes and their own one-page devotion to all things goat (better than Wikipedia)
RCB proper: A loose bouncy affair starts the first segment, with a strong gyspy feel, (Spuyten Duyvil, Kagero, plus the Late Saints from Philly). Segment 2 is more rock oriented. Dan Miraldi’s tune has a great 60’s pop rock vibe to it. . Sirsy, John Brodeur and Nine Times Blue also in this segment. They are part of the MOVE Music Festival in Albany NY this coming weekend. Began Segment 3 with something new from Jenn Friedman. Her new book and music project relates to her experirence with several eating disorders. The Portraits “Malala” references the two-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee, student/activist Malala Yousafzai. Si Kahn & Karen Collins shared billing on 4/20 as Si celebrated birthday #70. It was also a fundraiser for Alaska’s Bristol Bay, subject of a prior album of his. Segment: Raina Rose & Matt The Electrician appeared at Threadgill’s in Austin on 4/19.
SUBMISSION GUIDLINES
I focus on CDs as opposed to downloads, though I make exceptions in the event of albums that are digital releases only. Music must have a 2014 release date or not released otherwise before July 2013. All new albums debut on RCB Novus Ordo; on rare exception, some debut on Radio Crystal Blue proper.
I’m also interested in featuring, great compilation or soundtrack albums track-for-track, to help tell the story of those albums.
