PROGRAMMING:
NEXT SHOW will be published on or about November 20 and will be available for about 1 year. I usually publish on Wednesdays or as soon as possible thereafter. You will hear music in several segments of top indie/DIY/underground songwriters and bands. RCB Novus Ordo is a separate podcast with 8-10 songs, one each from a brand new recording. I spin the music and give you the backstory of each artist.
It’s also the final week I will debut music from “Esperanza: Songs From Jack Kerouac’s ‘Tristessa’. Have you enjoyed this music as much as I have aired it? If you like where the music takes you, get the novella itself. It will fill in the gaps. My favorite I’ve aired thus far is “O City Lights” by Gregory Alan Isokov.

Happy to report that I’m starting a new contract job on Wednesday and it promises to be for the long term. This whole ordeal with finding work and income comes down to the power of one’s expression and energy. It’s where you put your attention, and to follow your intuition, backed up with outward action, enough action to balance the thoughts, the words, the emotion, the flow. This isn’t ‘new age’; this is how it really is.
Meanwhile, the contract ink hasn’t dried yet and I haven’t started the work, and the first check hasn’t cashed yet. So, for the interim, remember you can donate to me and to this radio program by clicking the Paypal button at www.radiocrystalblue.net

ARCHIVE PROJECT was posted earlier this week. I’m seeking whole and partial editions of RCB shows that you may have recorded in the past. Yes it’s OK to record my show, so long as you don’t try to profit from it, or pass it off as a whole show. Truth in advertising, people. And, there’s that Creative Commons license I have on it, which you can read about here:

What I want to do with any existing content recorded before 2012 is let it be a permanent fixture at my website, and also at the Internet Archive and on Big Contact. I’d like for people to recognize how this show has unfolded over time and to recognize the up-and-comers who are headlining these days.

I have, at arm’s length, while I type, some shows from early 2006. This might prove fruitful. I didn’t save a lot of shows to disc and all my older stuff got damaged thanks to the loss of the older hard drive. And the move took a lot of CDs away as well. So I ask you to help fill in the spaces. I’d like there to be a representative amount, 2 or 3 albums from 2002 to 2011. Got something we should hear? Email me. Large files can be sent via hightail (the old yousendit) but give me the heads-up first.

HOLIDAY music: My last show for the year will be the week of December 15. This is the annual show focusing on seasonal music for this time of the year. If you know of artists who have music for Christmas or similar end-of-year holidays, or even simply for December, have them send it along.

RCB REWIND:
RCB Novus Ordo: Switchback are back again with their 2nd release of 2013, this a live album “American Roots & Celtic Soul”. Their songwriting exchange reminds me a bit of Aztec Two-Step. Childsplay is a trio-led ensemble, with a host of fiddlers, a fiddlemaker in the group, and assorted instruments alongsides. Tempo Plastico brings you pop-rock from Brazil. Being a Kerouac fan, I chose the song “Kerouac”.
RCB proper: Hearing of the passing of Ali Eskandarian this week, I managed to dig out his 2006 album and spin one of his songs. I helped with the booking of some of his shows between 2004 and 2006. I recall he had several projects, one being Ali & the Electric Insect. We had been out of touch after 2007, and then I read of this horrible murder. Following this song I spun an album I had first aired for you all back in 2003, all lullabies from countries named by President Bush as being part of an ‘axis of evil’. The lullabies were twinned in song by Western vocal counterparts. I choose 2 selections from Iran, as Ali was from Iran himself. Segment 1: Started with more new music from DB Rielly and Suzie Brown (the latter you should know is a Fats Domino cover). Heather Maloney & Darlingside have been touring since 11/1 and continue through Sunday 11/17 in Arlington VA. Chelsea Madrigal returns to the airwaves here. Segment 2 starts bluesy (BD Lenz, Herbie D, Too Slim) with the sax as common denominator. Also we hear another new track from Tuscon’s The Modeens and likewise from Darius Lux. Segment 3: Another new track from Peter Galperin’s new album is heard. von Grey I hear will release a new album in January. Melissa Greener & the Levins shared billing in NYC earlier this week. Segment 4: Buskin & Batteau and Aztec Two-Step on the same bill? It’s happening tonight (11/16) at Ardmore Music Hall, Ardmore PA.
