PROGRAMMING:
NEXT SHOW will be published on or about June 26 and will be available for about 1 year. I usually publish on Wednesdays or as soon as possible thereafter. You will hear music in several segments of top indie/DIY/underground songwriters and bands.

RCB Novus Ordo is a separate podcast with 8 songs, one each from a brand new recording. I spin the music and give you some backstory of each. My wait list is a lot shorter these days so I’m spinning 8 songs per week on this show instead of the usual 10.

I continue to seek very good concept/compilations for future shows, with albums I can feature track-for-track. Do you know of one? Send it along!
5 YEARS AGO: Reflecting on a show I aired the week of 6/22/08, I debuted music from Kaydi Johnson, whom I reconnected with just this year. Also within the standard show was music by The Shake, Amy Clarke, The Shake, Kid Goat, Kellylee Evans (who has just released a new album), Katie Pearlman, Ellis, and Laura Tsaggaris. Featured airplay went to Paul Curreri and Amber Norgaard.

RCB Novus Ordo: Oustanding music from this show includes The Mighty Mojo Prophets, a blues-rockabilly band on the big Delta Groove label (who also bring you Bob Corritore, Rod Piazza and more you’ve heard me spin music of).
RCB proper: No summer segue to kick off this edition, but that will return next week. Segment 1: Songs of simpler times in this one, as The HickoryTown Ruckus, Roosevelt Dime, and Steven Graves are represented in that style. Steven’s tune is my favorite from the EP “Let It Ride”. Jann Klose returns with a new album; the song “Beautiful One” features vocals from Carrie Newcomer. Segment 2: Professor Louie & the Crowmatix, and New Riders Of The Purple Sage share billing at The Hamilton in DC on July 1. We hear Sheila Swift’s new summer single in the rotation here (inspired by “The Great Gatsby”), plus another new song from Aqua Cherry’s new EP. Segment 3: Patricia Silverberg celebrates a birthday later in June. Lisa Biales is aired with a Mississippi John Hurt cover. Sassparilla and Julia Massey & The Five Finger Discount take part in Noise For The Needy, a music festival in Seattle on June 22. This festival. It’s been a while since Lara Ewen’s received airplay. As I understand it, she has completed recording a new album. Final segment includes another new song from Elyssa Rose, and a 20-year-old tune referencing the Reagan era from Aztec Two-Step, who themselves have performed for 40 years.
